Does the Taurine in Red Bull Come from Bull Semen
Taurine is a key ingredient in Red Bull, Monster, Rock Star, and other energy drinks. The ingredient is added because there is evidence it helps muscle function, may aid athletic performance and endurance, helps reduce anxiety, and appears to aid blood sugar regulation and cardiac health. Its an organic molecule (not an amino acid) named for the Latin taurus, which means ox or bull because originally taurine was extracted from bull semen and ox bile. No Bull Although there is taurine in bull semen, this is not the source of the ingredient in Red Bull, other energy drinks, or other products that contain the molecule, such as baby formula and cosmetics. Taurine is found in other animal tissues, as well, including the human intestine, breast milk, meat, and fish. However, chemical processes can make taurine from other source molecules in much the same way your body does. The taurine in Red Bull and other energy drinks, and many other products is synthesized in a lab and is suitable for vegans and anyone wishing to avoid animal products. Specifically, taurine may be synthesized by reacting aziridine with sulfurous acid or from a series of reactions starting with ethylene oxide and sodium bisulfite. Red Bull gets its name from the ingredient, but it doesnt get the ingredient from bulls! Its a matter of simple economics. Using bull semen would alienate a large portion of the customer base, including people seeking to avoid animal products, and would cost much more to produce.

Should Euthanasia Be Legalized - 864 Words
In the world, there are a number of people suffering from intractable diseases. There are patients with terminal cancer that the cells had spread to all over the body and leukemia-stricken patients who sustain their lives by agonizing anticancer treatments. Although they keep living relying on medical treatment or ventilators, their qualities of life are extremely low and even sustaining their own lives is harsher than killing themselves. In the past, there have been practices of mercy killing for incurable animals. If the animals seem impossible to recover their health, a veterinarian is able to help them reach to death. Though there are some people disagreeing with animal mercy killing, most of people agree on it and it is legal. However, when it comes to human, there is a furious controversy over euthanasia. Because there is a sharp conflict on the issue, some countries accept mercy killing lawful while others do not. The main arguments about the issue are whether the deliberate intervention on oneââ¬â¢s life to the end is morally right or wrong. Some say euthanasia should be legalized because it is the only way to relieve harsh pain and meet ââ¬Ëreal happinessââ¬â¢ for the patients who are not expected to maintain their lives more. They also argue that people should respect the patientsââ¬â¢ right to die as we respect humansââ¬â¢ right to live. Whether the crime is robbing food, money, or even hurting the people you love, your family. You will soon read about how being a criminal starts or even stops, where it begins, with whom it begins with and why crime seems to be the only way out sometimes for the poor. The exact amount of poverty that exits in the United States are difficult to ascertain, since the manner in which poverty is measured determines the amount of poverty reported. The U.S. Bureau of the Census reported that there were about 33,100,00 persons classified as officially below the poverty level in 1985. Small children that live in low-income households, are vulnerable to a wide variety of problems, including poor nutrition, inadequate housing, substandard medical attention, lack of proper nutrition, and physical or emotional abuse. Adolescents from these backgrounds become part of cycle of low-income or unemployment. Black and Hispanic teenagers have particularly acute problems obtaining employment. The Presidents Commission on Law Enforcement and the Administration of Justice recognized the role of poverty in producing delinquency and noted that the most serious forms of juvenile delinquencies are more prevalent between youths at the lowest socioeconomic levels. The fact that poverty is self-perpetuating is a documented fact. Criminal and delinquent activity may also be an accepted part of the total picture for deprived kids.
